The aim of this blog site is for reaching out to other people who are married to, or parent of, a first responder. To share experiences, point to resources, do book reviews. Promote awareness of issues and provide ideas on ways to hopefully overcome them. Us, the partners/parents are the frontline in the wellbeing for first responders. Yet we get no training. There is help & great information available, but is not always easy to find. This life has unique challenges and can be very isolating, something I believe is a major factor in stress for first responder families. This risk of mental health issues for the first responder is a concern.
