Bloody Mary V8s are a spiked and slightly spicier version of a glass of tomato juice and are perfect for breakfast or brunch. Make this vodka cocktail recipe for a brunch or to serve with steamed crabs.

Bloody Mary V8s are a spiked and slightly spicier version of a glass of tomato juice and are perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients:
  • • 1.5 ounces vodka or 1 shot glass full of vodka
  • • 5.5 ounces V8® vegetable juice (1 small can)
  • • 2 dashes worcestershire sauce
  • • 2-3 dashes hot sauce
  • • 1 teaspoon fresh lime or lemon juice (I used lime juice, since I had a lime on hand.)
  • For Bloody Mary Salt:
  • • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • • Juice of a lime or lemon
  • (You can also add cooked shrimp, a pickle or olive, or a wedge of cheese or a chunk of dried sausage to your glass.) rim if you like.)
How to cook:
  1. Mix the salt, pepper and spices in a shallow dish with a spoon for your Bloody Mary rim salt mixture.
  2. Rub a lemon or lime wedge around the rim of your glass.
  3. Dip your glass in the spice mixture to coat the rim of the glass with the Bloody Mary rim salt mixture.
  4. The next step is to mix the V8®, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon or lime juice and vodka.
  5. If you decide to mix your cocktail in your glass, you'll want to use V8® that has already been chilled. You simply poor the Bloody Mary ingredients into your glass and stir with a spoon.
  6. Otherwise, you can pour your ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker and shake them to mix.

  • 1 tsp celery seeds
  • 1 tsp black ground pepper
  • 3 cups Bloody Mary Mix (from above; for ¾ cup mix per drink)
  • 6 ounces vodka (or 1.5 ounces per drink)
  • 1 stalk celery (use ¼ stalk per drink, split down middle; as a garnish)

  • 1 3/4 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning, (divided)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sweet paprika, (divided)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons celery seed, (divided)
  • 1 3/4 cups vegetable juice ((I use V8; tomato juice can be substituted. See notes))
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ((shake the bottle first))
  • 1 tablespoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice, (plus 1 wedge for rimming the glass)

How to cook:
  1. On a small plate, use a fork to combine 1 teaspoon each of Old Bay, paprika, and celery seed. Run a lemon wedge around the top edge of two glasses, then dip the glasses into the spice mixture.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker or large liquid measuring cup halfway with ice.
  3. Add the vegetable juice, Worcestershire, lemon juice, Tabasco, horseradish, 3/4 teaspoon Old Bay, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon celery seed and vodka. Gently shake the cocktail shaker (to avoid foam) or whisk the ingredients in the measuring cup to combine.
  4. Add some ice to the glasses and divide the Bloody Mary evenly between the two. Add any optional garnishes, then serve immediately.
