The Best Candle Recipe with Essential Oils
Here is my favorite recipe that you can play with to make it your own! It creates a 2 oz candle.

Number of ingredients: 6
Ingredients:
  • ½ cup (1.5 oz) soy wax
  • 1 Tbsp beeswax
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil (solid)
  • 30 drops essential oil
  • Wick
  • 2-3 oz jar or similar container*
How to cook:
  1. Melt soy wax, beeswax, and coconut oil in a double boiler.
  2. Once the mixture has just melted, remove from heat, add essential oils and stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Dip the bottom of the wick into the melted wax to adhere it to the bottom of the container. Prop wick upright and pour the wax into the container.
  4. Allow the candle to cool completely. Trim the wick to ¼ inch in height. Burn candles within sight, away from flammable objects, children, and pets.

Homemade Aromatherapy Candles
These Homemade Aromatherapy Candles make the ultimate relaxation gift and perfect use for all of those old mason jars. You just need wax, wicks and essential oils.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Yields: 4 servings
Number of ingredients: 6
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups soy wax flakes
  • natural wicks (anchors optional)
  • 80-120 drops of essential oil (I used lavender, grapefruit and eucalyptus)
  • 8 ounce mason jars (or jars of choice)
  • wood stirring device
  • pens or chopsticks for securing wicks.
How to cook:
  1. Melt soy wax in a pot over low-medium heat. They should melt fairly easily but turn up heat slightly if taking more than a few minutes. Stir using wood stirring device (I used a chopstick)
  2. Once melted, add 80-102 drops of your favorite essential oils. Amount depends on type of essential oils and how potent they are.
  3. Anchor wicks to bottom of mason jars using a bit of wax.
  4. Tape wick upright to a horizontal chopstick or pen (see picture above).
  5. Pour wax into mason jar and then repeat until all jars are full. Depending on size of mason jars you may have some wax leftover.
  6. Let stand until solid (about 1 hour).
  7. Cut wick to desired length.

Natural DIY Candle Recipe That’s Perfect for Wintertime

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz soy wax (~⅓ cup)
  • 1 Tbsp beeswax
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil (solid)
  • 14 drops Lime Essential Oil
  • 12 drops Pine Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Nutmeg Essential Oil
  • Candle wick
  • 2-3 oz narrow jar (approx. 1-inch across works well) or mold
How to cook:
  1. In a double boiler, melt soy wax, beeswax, and coconut oil together.
  2. Once the mixture has just melted, remove from heat. Add essential oils and stir to mix.
  3. Place candle wick in center of jar or mold. Pour in wax while propping wick upright. If necessary, lay pencils (or something similar) across the top of candle to keep the wick centered. Allow to cool.
  4. To use, light candle. Burn within sight, keep away from small children, pets and flammable surfaces. Approximate burn time 5-7 hours (when made in a narrow jar).
