Ingredients:
- 5 bundles collard greens
- 3 cups salted water
- 3 large smoked ham hocks
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup salt
- 3 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
How to cook:
- Thoroughly wash collard greens, be sure to pull leaves apart and remove any sand. In a medium saucepan, bring 3 cups of salted water to a simmer. Place smoked ham hocks in salted water and cover. Cook ham hocks until slightly tender and remove from pan. In the same saucepan, add collard greens and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook greens for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until water reduces, add more water and additional salt and sugar, to taste.

Ingredients:
- 5 bundles collard greens or Kale
- 1L salted water
- 3 large smoked ham hocks
- 225g sugar
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
How to cook:
- 1) Thoroughly wash collard greens or Kale. Be sure to pull leaves apart and remove any sand. Chop coarsely.
- 2) In a medium saucepan, bring 950ml of salted water to a simmer. Place smoked ham hocks in salted water, cover and simmer for about 90 minutes until slightly tender.
- 3) In the same saucepan, add remaining ingredients and greens or Kale.
- 4) Cover and cook gently for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- *Cook's Note: Make sure at least half of ham hocks are covered with water. If not, add additional water.

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs collard greens (washed & cut)
- 2 large smoked ham hocks
- 1 large yellow onion (chopped)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 large jalapeno peppers (chopped)
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 8 cups water
How to cook:
- Place the ham hocks, onions, garlic, and peppers into the slow cooker, then turn pour in 8 cups of water.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker, then set on high for 6 hours.
- After 4 hours the ham hocks should be tender and falling off of the bone.
- Start adding in the collard greens.
- Sprinkle in the salt & pepper, then add in the apple cider vinegar.
- Give everything a stir, then let cook for two more hours.
- Serve and enjoy!
