Salmon and Spinach Dog Treats

An easy and healthy homemade dog treat recipe made with salmon, spinach, chickpea flour, and chia seeds.
Provided by: Tiffany
Total time: 45 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Prep time: 15 minutes
Yields: 0 servings
Number of ingredients: 4
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup of Chickpea Flour
  • 3 - 5oz containers of canned salmon (see blog and recipe notes for dog-safe canned salmon)
  • 1 chia seed egg (or one regular egg if your dog is not allergic)
  • 1 Cup of fresh spinach
How to cook:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Make your chia egg by combining one tablespoon of chia seeds with three tablespoons on warm water. Whisk together and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. You will see that they will become thick and gel like.
  3. Finely chop your fresh spinach and drain water from your chosen salmon packages.
  4. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and place mixture in your silicone molds. If you don’t have silicone molds you can roll the mixture into bite sized meatballs.
  5. Bake for 25-35 minutes. I baked mine for the full 35. These are very soft treats, they should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days. Allow to cool completely before removing from the silicone baking molds.
