  • 1 batch cookie dough OR
  • 1 batch baked cookies
How to cook:
  1. For cookie dough
  2. Roll your cookie dough into balls and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  3. Once the cookie dough balls firm up, you can transfer them to a reusable freezer-safe bag or container. Cookie dough will keep well for up to 3 months.
  4. When ready to bake, simply bake the cookies as directed. You may just need a few extra minutes of baking time. You can also bring the dough to room temp and then bake them as directed; either option will work!
  5. For baked cookies
  6. Wait for the cookies to cool completely, then transfer them to a reusable freezer-safe bag or container lined with wax or parchment paper. I like to place them in a single layer to avoid any cookies breaking. Cookies will keep well for up to 2 months.
  7. Once ready to eat, simply thaw out at room temperature and enjoy.

  • Lipped baking sheet
  • Plastic wrap
  • Gallon-size Ziploc freezer bags
How to cook:
  1. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay the cookies in a single layer on the parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  3. Loosely cover with plastic wrap.
  4. Lay the baking sheet flat in the freezer. Freeze cookies for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  5. When the cookies are frozen, transfer them to labeled Ziploc freezer bags.

How to cook:
  1. I like to use parchment paper to line the pan when freezing the cookies, so do that first.
  2. Then, roll the entire batch of cookie dough into balls just like you would if you were baking them.
  3. Layer them on a sheet pan in a single layer as you scoop them. Fill the baking pan or tray with all the uncooked rolled cookie dough balls.
  4. Then, cover it with plastic wrap.
  5. After layering the individual dough balls in a single layer on the parchment lined pan, stick the filled pan in the freezer for the initial freeze.
  6. Freeze until the cookie dough balls are hard.
  7. Meanwhile, take a gallon sized zip top freezer-safe bag and label it with the recipe name, date, cooking temperature and time details.
  8. When the cookie dough is frozen, remove the pan from the freezer.
  9. Store the cookie dough in an airtight container, plastic freezer bag, or in vacuum sealed bags.
  10. Label the bag or container with date, contents, baking instructions, and bake time.
  11. For cut-out cookies, like these vanilla cutout sugar cookies or these gingerbread cookies, you will follow the same instructions as above, but instead of rolling the cookie dough, you’ll pre-cut your batch of cookies.
  12. After you flash freeze the cookie dough on the parchment lined baking sheet, store the cookies in the same way as cookie dough balls.

  1. Make the cookie dough as the recipe instructs. Freezing works best with drop cookies (i.e. chocolate chip, peanut butter, etc.). Cut-out cookies actually freeze well after they’re baked!
  2. Roll the cookie dough into even balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet that fits in your freezer.
