- Thread pineapple onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for at least 30 minutes before threading pineapple on). Mix together brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and honey. Place skewered pineapple on a large plate or pan. Using a spoon or a brush, thoroughly glaze each piece of pineapple with the brown sugar mixture.
- Place skewers on a grill, preheated to a medium-high temperature. Cook for 5-10 minutes on each side, or just until the sugar-glaze starts to caramelize.

- Start by cutting off the green top. Next, remove skin and core (see my note below for a tool recommendation).
- Slice the pineapple into rings, then each ring in half. You can also cut it into spears or just rings. I prefer to cut it into half rings because it’s easy to flip them on the grill.
- In a medium bowl, melt butter. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Arrange pineapple slices on a plate and brush each one with butter mixture.
- Grill on hot grill or grill pan for 2 to 3 minutes, on each side, until golden brown.
- Serve right away.

- Preheat grill on high. If grilling something else, a lower temperature. Be sure to clean and oil the grill grate well. Works well on a gas or charcoal grill.
- In a bowl with a relatively flat bottom, melt 4 tablespoons butter in a microwave. About 25 seconds should do it. Mix in 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Cut the pineapple into rings about 3/4 inches. You can use pineapple spears instead if you wish.
- Dip into the glaze covering all sides and place directly on the grill.
- Flip in 3-4 minutes. Total grill time 6-8 minutes.
- Serve hot as a side dish or with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
