  • 1 cup Whole Milk Plain Yogurt
  • 1 bunch of Cilantro with stems
  • 2 Tablespoons Mint leaves
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Green Chili or deseeded Serrano or Jalapeno
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted cumin seeds or powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Water or Yogurt
  • Pink Salt to taste

How to cook:
  1. Thoroughly wash and clean the Cilantro and Mint. Use Cilantro stems and remove any stems from Mint leaves.
  2. In a good blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth consistency. It makes about 1/4 cup Cilantro Chutney.
  3. Whisk Whole Milk Yogurt in a medium bowl until smooth. Add 1/4 cup Chutney to whipped Yogurt. Mix well until well combined.
  4. Serve it immediately with Kebabs, Biryani, Pakoras, Paratha. Enjoy!

  • 1 medium onion (chopped (2 to 4 tbsps))
  • ½ cup cucumbers ((peeled & chopped))

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons coriander leaves ((chopped finely cilantro))

How to cook:
  1. Preparation
  2. Chill the yogurt. Rinse & chop the onions & green chilies. Rinse & peel the cucumbers. If needed deseed them & chop to bite sizes.
  3. Rinse coriander leaves in ample amount of water. Drain completely and chop them fine.
  4. Optional - Roast 1 tsp cumin seeds on a low flame until it smells good. Cool this and crush them to fine powder in a spice jar.
  5. How to make raita
  6. Add curd and salt to a mixing bowl. Whisk them until smooth with a fork or a whisk.
  7. Next add chopped cucumbers, onions, cumin powder, coriander leaves and green chilies.
  8. Stir gently. If required add more yogurt. Taste test and add more salt if required.
  9. Garnish with cumin powder on top. Serve raita with biryani, pulao, kebabs or paratha.
