How to cook:
  1. TO MAKE HOMEMADE APPLE PIE FILLING - Start with melting butter in a skillet, at medium-high heat. Next, add peeled and diced apples and cook for 5 minutes, stirring from time to time. Next, add sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt.
  2. Stir well and cook until apples are soft, stirring from time to time, for about 5 minutes. When the apples are cooked, stir in lemon and cook for one more minute. Remove from heat.
  3. TO MAKE THE CINNAMON ROLL CUPS - Spray 8 cups in a muffin tin with non stick spray. Take 8 cinnamon rolls and roll them with a rolling pin and then press into muffin cups, so that the bottom and the sides of it are covered.
  4. Put apple pie mixture in the muffin cups over cinnamon rolls and bake for 12-15 minutes until they get golden brown. Take them out of the oven, and leave in a muffin tin for a few minutes. Take them out of muffin tin carefully and put on a cooling wrack.
  5. Transfer icing to a small microwavable bowl. Microwave 8 to 10 seconds. Then, drizzle icing over the cups.
  6. Serve them warm, or at a room temperature.

  • ¼ cup salted butter (melted)
  • 21 ounce (½ can) apple pie filling

How to cook:
  1. Spray a 9x13 inch casserole pan with cooking spray and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dark brown sugar and cinnamon until combined.
  3. Open the cinnamon rolls and cut each into fourths using a pizza cutter.
  4. Place the cinnamon roll quarters into the bowl with the sugar and cinnamon mixture and toss gently until the rolls are evenly covered.
  5. Scoop the entire contents of the large mixing bowl into the prepared casserole pan and gently spread it out into an even layer.
  6. Pour the melted butter all over the pan, focusing on the edges so that they don’t dry out.
  7. In a medium sized bowl, mix together the apple pie filling and the caramel syrup until combined.
  8. Use a knife or fork to cut the apple slices into bite size pieces.
  9. Scoop the apple pie mixture onto the cinnamon rolls in several places and then gently even it out into a single layer. Not all the cinnamon rolls will be covered but you want to have apples scattered evenly all over the top.
  10. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are firm to the touch and beginning to turn golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before drizzling it with the icing from the cinnamon roll cans and the extra caramel syrup, optional.
  12. Serve warm.
