Ingredients:
  • 4 medium red apples (peeled and chopped (about 16 ounces/450g))
  • 2 tablespoons (24g) organic granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 tablespoon (10g) all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all purpose flour
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons (65g) vegan butter
  • 3/4 cup (115g) organic brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) ground cinnamon
How to cook:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C).
  2. Add the apples to the baking dish. Pour the apple filling ingredients over and toss to coat. Here is a link for the exact baking dish I used.
  3. In a separate medium bowl add the ingredients for the crumble topping. Using the side of a fork cut the butter into the flour to make crumble pieces. Do your best to make sure all the flour has been mixed in some way with the butter. You can also use your hands. If you like bigger pieces on top for the crumble do not make the pieces too small.
  4. Cover the apples with crumble topping.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Allow the crumble to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy with vegan ice cream or vegan whipped cream.

How to cook:
  1. Preheat the oven to 392 °F (200 °C).
  2. For the crumble, combine flour, oats, salt, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the diced vegan butter and knead everything together into crumbles.
  3. Wash and core the apples and cut them into cubes. Drizzle with a little lemon juice (to prevent them from turning brown) and put them in a baking dish or oven-proof skillet.
  4. Spread the crumbles on top of the apples. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and some more brown sugar, if desired. Then bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool briefly, then dust with powdered sugar and garnish with pomegranate seeds, if desired. Serve with vanilla ice cream and vegan caramel sauce.

  • 8 cups Granny Smith Apples ((2.2lb/1kg) Peeled and Cubed )
  • 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar ((100g))
  • 1/4 cup All Purpose Flour ((31g))

How to cook:
  1. Peel and cube the apple and add to a mixing bowl with the brown sugar, all purpose flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice and vanilla extract and toss together so that all the apple pieces are coated.
  2. Transfer the apple mix to a 9x13 dish sprayed with non-stick spray and smooth down.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  4. Prepare the topping. Add the all purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar and cinnamon to the mixing bowl and mix together. Then add in the melted vegan butter and vanilla and stir in.
  5. Use your fingers to spread the topping over the apple layer, crumbling it with your fingers until it is evenly spread across the top.
  6. Place into the oven and bake for 50 minutes until the top is nicely golden brown and the apple mix is bubbling up the sides.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve with vegan ice cream or vegan whipped cream.

  • 6 large / 1 kilo / 2.2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into cubes
  • ½ cup / 80g coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup / 30g arrowroot powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup / 100g almond meal
  • 1 cup / 140g all-purpose gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup / 120g gluten-free rolled oats
  • ½ cup / 60g walnuts, roughly chopped

How to cook:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celcius (355 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the filling ingredients plus two tablespoons of water, ensuring that all the apples are coated well.
  3. Spread the apples evenly in an approximately 31cm x 21cm (12.2 inches x 8.27 inches) baking dish and set aside.
  4. For the crumble topping, reusing the bowl from the apples, combine all the topping ingredients plus two tablespoons of water, mixing well with a spatula. If you feel like it isn’t mixed in well enough evenly, I like to get in with my hands.
  5. Crumb the topping over the apples evenly and put in the oven to bake for around 45-50 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with some vegan ice cream, coconut cream, or yoghurt.
