  • 2 cups steel cut oats (no substitution)
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 cups milk (any variety)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon melted coconut oil (or cooking spray or butter)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • chopped nuts (for serving)
