How to cook:
  1. Prepare your jalapeños first. Remove the stems and cut them into slices.
  2. Add the water into a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until the water begins to boil.
  3. Add in the granulated sugar and stir continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Add in the sliced jalapeños turn the heat down to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Pour the mixture into a separate container and cool to room temperature. Pour the mixture through a sieve to remove the jalapeños if you want a milder simple syrup, or leave them in if you're looking for a lot of kick. I like to pour my simple syrup into mason jars for easy storage.
  6. Start your cocktail in a shaker or jar - either will work as long as you have a lid! Into the shaker or jar place the ice, lime juice, jalapeño simple syrup, and tequila.
  7. Secure the top and shake to combine all the flavors!
  8. Use a lime wedge to wet the rim of a glass.
  9. Pour salt onto a wide plate. Place the outer rim of the glass in the salt to coat it.
  10. Carefully fill the glass with ice. Strain the shaken liquid into the glass.
  11. Top the glass with lime sparkling water.
  12. Garnish with a lime wedge and a slice of jalapeño and serve!

How to cook:
  1. Place sea salt into a small shallow plate, wide enough to fit the diameter of your margarita glass. Set aside.
  2. Rub the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wedge to wet about 2-3 mm of the rim.
  3. Dip the rim into salt, moving in a circular motion to stick the salt to the wet part of the rim. Place the prepared glass in the freezer for at least 20 minutes, or fill it with ice to keep it cold.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, add jalapeno slices with 1/3 cup crushed ice, muddle up with a wooden spoon to release the spiciness from the jalapenos.
  5. Add tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, orange juice, agave syrup.
  6. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 60 seconds - that's long but worth it!
  7. Remove the glass from the freezer. Fill it with 1/3 cup crushed ice and strain the cocktail over the glass into the prepared glass.
  8. Enjoy immediately and garnish the glass with additional lime wedges or jalapeno slices.
