Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs. beef stew meat
  • 1 c crushed tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz. can kidney beans
  • 2 T olive oil
  • ¼ c yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 1 t cumin
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 T Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 T vinegar
  • ¼ T crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 T cornmeal
  • ¼ t pepper
  • 1 c cheddar cheese (for garnish)
  • 1 bunch green onions (for garnish)

How to cook:
  1. Cut the beef into 1” cubes
  2. Prep the vegetables by washing and drying them. Dice the onion until you have 1 cup. Mince the garlic.
  3. Cut the green onion and set aside. Grate the cheese and set it aside.
  4. Place a large saucepan on medium heat. Add the olive oil to the hot pot.
  5. Add minced garlic and onion to the saucepan. Stir and sauté for 2 minutes or until the onion is soft.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium and add the beef. Stir the meat and cook it until it is browned and there is no pink left.
  7. Reduce the heat to low. Add in all of the seasonings (not the cornmeal), brown sugar, vinegar, tomatoes, and beans. Stir to mix.
  8. Simmer for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes.
  9. Add the cornmeal and stir it to mix.
  10. Simmer for 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes.

  • 2 lb Ground beef
  • 443 ml Crushed tomatoes ((15 fl oz))
  • 540 ml Kidney beans ((19 fl oz))
  • 2 cloves Garlic (sliced or diced)
  • 1/2 Large white onion
  • 2 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp All purpose flour (Optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tbsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp White vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Pepper (or to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
How to cook:
  1. Heat up a large pot on medium heat and then add oil.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic till the onions are translucent.
  3. Add in the ground beef and mix it using a spatula till the beef is evenly browned.
  4. Add all the remaining ingredients, except the flour. Mix well.
  5. Close with a lid and let it simmer for 30 to 40 minutes.
  6. If the chili looks too watery, add the flour, mix and let it cook for 15 minutes or till it reaches your preferred consistency.
  7. Serve it warm in a bowl. Top it off with shredded cheddar, sour cream or sliced jalapenos.
