Ingredients:
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 leek, white part only, roughly chopped
- 30 grams olive oil
- 1 carrot, roughly chopped
- 1 celery stick, roughly chopped
- 1 white potato, peeled & roughly chopped
- 700 grams water -, this is approx. Ensure your fluid level does not go over the maximum level on the inside of your TM bowl once you've lowered the basket inside!
- 1 tablespoon vegie stock paste
- 100 grams split peas, green or yellow
- cracked pepper, to taste
- 1 smallish ham hock, approx 1kg (needs to be cut in half)
How to cook:

Scrape down sides of bowl. Add oil and saute for 5 minutes, varoma temp, speed 1.\nAdd carrots, celery & potato and chop for 5 seconds, speed 7. Scrape down sides of bowl. Add water, stock paste, peas & pepper to the bowl.\nPlace ham hock in TM basket. You may need to cut pieces off around the bone so you can position in a way that the whole hock fits in the basket!\nLower basket into TM bowl slowly! Check the fluid level to ensure it hasn't gone over the maximum line on the inside of your bowl. When you close the lid, make sure there is enough room near the hole for steam to escape during cooking!! This is very important. If the hole in the lid becomes blocked, it will create a pressure situation which can be VERY dangerous!\nCook for 60 minutes, 100degC, speed 1, with the MC out of lid.\nRemove meat from basket, before draining soup back into bowl & removing basket completely.\nCook soup for another 15 mins at 100degC on speed 1.\nWhile soup is cooking, remove meat from hock and chop into small pieces.\nOnce soup cooked, slowly turn dial up to speed 9 and blend for about 40 seconds.\nAdd chopped meat back to soup and mix on reverse, speed 5 for about 20 seconds.\nServe with home made bread rolls!"}}

- Place split peas into DRY TM bowl and mill for 1 minute in speed 8
- Set aside
- Place garlic, leeks and onion into bowl and chop 5 seconds on speed 7
- Add oil and sauté for 2 minutes at 100oC on speed 1
- Add carrots and chop for 5 seconds on speed 6
- Add water, cubed potatoes and all remaining ingredients and put bacon hock into steaming basket and cook for 25 minutes at 100oC on reverse + speed soft
- If soup is bubbling over, reduce temperature to 90oC
- If soup is too thick, add a little extra water until the desired consistency is achieved
- Cook for a further 2-3 minutes at100oC on reverse + speed soft

- 180 g onion (quartered)
- 5 g rosemary (1 sprig - stem removed -leaves only)
- 20 g garlic
- 1300 g hot tap water (TM31 use 1100g water)
- 2 tsp vegetable stock paste
- 200 g hot tap water (additional (later))
- 500 g smoked bacon bones (or ham hock, cut to fit into the internal steam basket)
- 200 g potato (cubed)
- 700 g frozen peas
- 200 g hot tap water (additional (later))
- 1 bagel (cut into thick slices and toasted)
- 20 g shaved parmesan cheese
- 50 g frozen peas (30 sec microwave)
- 50 g ham (reserved after cooking the bones)
- 50 g sour cream
- 1 fresh dill or basil (sprig only *optional)
- 1 pinch cracked pepper (*optional)

- Place the onion, rosemary and garlic in TM bowl. Chop 3 sec/Speed 9.
- Add the 1300g water and stock paste in the TM bowl.
- Place the internal steam basket in the TM bowl.
- Break up the bacon bones (ham hock) and add to the basket. Cook 60 min/100 degrees/Speed 3.
- Arrange
- Use tongs to break apart and rearrange the bacon bones. Add additional 200ml hot tap water to TM Bowl. Cook 50 min/100 degrees/Speed 3.
- Remove the internal steam basket and reserve bones.
- Add the potato to the TM broth. Cook 20 min/100/Speed 2.
- Remove
- Meanwhile, use tongs and a fork to remove meat from the bones. Reserve meat in a bowl for later.
- Add the peas and additional 200g hot water to the soup. Cook for 7 min/Varoma/Speed 2.
- Blend soup over 2 minutes, starting at Speed 3 and working up to speed 9.
- Return all but 50g of the reserved meat to the soup.
- Garnishes
- Serve the soup in individual bowls and garnish with the bagel slices.
- Garnish
- Add remaining meat, peas and shaved parmesan to the top of the soup.
- Finish
- If desired finish with fresh dill, basil, sour cream and cracked pepper.
