This is a wonderful honey bbq sauce that we brush on pork spare ribs the last 15 minutes of cooking. It is a copycat recipe for the Tony Roma's restaurant sauce. Makes enough for 4 pounds of ribs. I was given this recipe by a friend was contacted by topsecretrecipes.com that it is their recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

How to cook:
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over high heat.
  2. Blend with a whisk until smooth.
  3. When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer uncovered.
  4. In 30-45 minutes when the mixture thickens, remove from heat.
  5. If it becomes to thick you can thin it with more vinegar.

I've had this recipe for years and my family has always enjoyed it. It's an easy recipe that is cooked in the oven which means that we have ribs more often during the colder months.

How to cook:
  1. Combine all ingredients except the ribs.
  2. Heat over high heat until boiling.
  3. Reduce heat, simmer 30-40 minutes until thick.
  4. Coat 4 pounds of baby back pork ribs, front and back, with BBQ sauce.
  5. Wrap ribs in aluminum foil.
  6. Bake at 300F for 2 - 2 1/2 hours. (I usually go 2 1/2 hours).
  7. Remove ribs from foil and smother with more sauce.

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 8 pieces skin and bone on, preferably chicken

How to cook:
  1. Add all the ingredients into a saucepan and whisk until combined.
  2. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 45 minutes.
  3. Set oven to 400 degrees F.
  4. Season chicken liberally with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook chicken for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Coat with BBQ sauce, then put under broiler for a few minutes.
  7. Put the pan on the top rack under the broiler.
  8. With the oven door open, watch the sauce as it begins to bubble and caramelize.
  9. When it is browned, take out.
  10. Serve with onion loaf, cole slaw, and lots of extra BBQ sauce!

How to cook:
  1. Combine the 7 rub ingredients in a bowl and mix well. The night before
  2. ribs are to be served, coat both sides well and place ribs in a zip
  3. lock bag in refrigerator.
  4. Remove ribs at least 7 hours before they are to be served and once
  5. again, coat well with seasoning.
  6. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Place ribs fat side up in a shallow foil lined
  7. baking pan and bake for 5 hours.
  8. After 5 hours, spread BBQ sauce on both sides and continue to bake.
  9. Add additional sauce after anoher 30 minutes.
  10. Ribs should be tender at 6 hours.
