Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 oz melted chocolate (you can use unsweetened, bittersweet or semi-sweet, see notes in the post for more details)
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp espresso powder (optional)
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
How to cook:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8x4 baking pan with parchment paper (or grease well).
  2. Vanilla Batter
  3. With a standing mixer or hand mixer, cream butter and cream cheese together until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
  4. Add in granulated sugar and brown sugar; cream the mixture until well combined.
  5. Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Add in flour, salt and baking powder and mix until just combined.
  7. Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  8. Remove 1 cup of batter and set aside in a medium sized bowl.
  9. Chocolate Batter
  10. Melt chocolate in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl. Once melted, allow the chocolate to cool 1-2 minutes.
  11. Sift cocoa powder and espresso powder (if using) into the 1 cup of batter, and mix until combined.
  12. Add in milk, and mix until combined.
  13. Lastly, mix in melted chocolate, mixing until combined.
  14. Spoon 1/3 of the vanilla batter into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  15. Dollop half of the chocolate batter on top.
  16. Spoon 1/3 of the vanilla batter on top.
  17. Dollop the remaining chocolate batter on top.
  18. Spoon the remaining 1/3 of vanilla batter on top of the chocolate.
  19. With a knife, swirl the batter together.
  20. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 300 and bake for another 55- 60 minutes, or until a cake tester comes clean. If the top of the pound cake is browning too quickly, tent a piece of non-stick foil on top.
  21. Allow to cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  22. Chocolate Ganache
  23. Heat heavy cream in the microwave until just under a boil.
  24. Pour over chocolate and allow the mixture to stand 1 minute or so, until the chocolate has melted.
  25. Whisk the mixture together until completely smooth.
  26. Pour ganache over the pound cake (alternately, you can use a knife to ‘frost’ the pound cake).
  27. Allow the ganache to set before slicing.
  28. Serve cold or at room temperature.
  29. Enjoy!

  • 1 teaspoons cornstarch

How to cook:
  1. Preheat oven to 350F and generously and thoroughly grease a bundt pan (make sure to get every crevice!). Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together butter and cream cheese until creamy and well-combined.
  3. Add sugars and beat until fluffy and well incorporated.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract stir well.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  6. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to the wet ingredients, starting and ending with flour mixture and stirring until just combined after each addition. I recommend stirring this part with a spatula or spoon rather than with the electric mixer, as it's not ideal to over-mix the batter.
  7. Divide batter into two bowls and add cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips to one bowl and stir well.
  8. Alternate dolloping chocolate and regular/vanilla batter into bundt pan. Once all batter has been used, use a knife to gently swirl batter together.
  9. Transfer to 350F and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool in baking pan for 15 minutes then carefully invert onto a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
  11. Meanwhile, make ganache to drizzle on top (if desired).
  12. GANACHE
  13. Combine chocolate chips and heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat.
  14. Stir constantly until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 15 minutes or until mixture has thickened (if it's too hot it will run right off the cake).
  15. Once ganache has thickened a bit, pour evenly over top of marble bundt cake. Allow ganache to set (about 1 hour) before slicing and serving.
