I'm a software engineer interested in software delivery and operations. I spend most of my time straddling the world of operations and software development. I want a world where everyone is comfortable being on-call and production is less intimidating to newcomers. I believe that software systems are sociotechnical. People matter more than technology, and the most valuable insights can be learned by studying how people spontaneously interact to solve problems. I write about distributed systems, observability, learning from incidents, and related topics. I work for [Honeycomb.io](https://www.honeycomb.io) as a Staff Engineer.

As humans, we all expel waste. Thousands of years ago, you could just expel waste and bury it in a hole, but now, we need stronger solutions. There are just too many humans for that to work safely and logistically. If you live in the city, your property needs to be hooked up to a municipal sewer system, and if you live a bit more off the beaten path, you need your own septic system. This blog is here to help you choose your septic system, maintain it, repair it and more. It's going to include a mixture of do-it-yourself tips, product reviews and guidance on when to call in the pros. Thanks for reading.

Hello, there! My name is Debbie Jones. Welcome to my new blog which is all about the problems you can face if you own a property. Last year, I moved into a place in Sydney, Australia and almost immediately started having problems. The electrical system began to fail and I didn't know why. I called in an electrical contractor who examined the wiring and discovered that there was a leak in my roof which was allowing water to drip onto a fuse box. I called in a roofing contractor who advised that I have the entire roof replaced. I had this work carried out and then had the walls of the property reinforced in order to provent further problems.
